The Lake is a co branding project for a major Chinese kitchen brand - Robam. Since 2015 an american NGO (The Nature Conservancy) is recultivating a drinking water lake in Yuhang district - Hangzhou, China. Bamboo farmers around the lake were forbidden to use any fertiliser or herbicides on their fields. In fact some local workers gave up their fields around the lake. The were financially compensated but now had a lot of free time. A collaboration between PINWU and Robam led to a co brand, The Lake. The idea was to teach the locals a new craft and so for a new opportunity in business, metal weaving. All the objects were shown first at Design Shanghai 2016. The artworks ranged from big scale decorative pieces for the exhibition booth to functional but exceptional products as well as rich in detailed jewelries.
